Ordering, Shipping & Delivery FAQs

How do I place an order with NW Immersion?

Most products can be purchased directly through the NW Immersion website. Custom, made-to-order, and special-order products may follow product-specific ordering terms, so review the product page or contact NW Immersion for details before placing your order.

What payment methods does NW Immersion accept?

NW Immersion accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and Affirml. All payments are made in U.S. dollars, with applicable sales tax and shipping charges added where required.

Are prices and product availability guaranteed?

Prices and availability can change. If a product is incorrectly priced, NW Immersion may cancel the order, notify you of the error, and allow you to purchase it at the correct price. An order may also be canceled if the purchased product becomes unavailable.

How much does shipping cost?

Most qualifying orders of $150 or more after discounts receive free standard shipping within the lower 48 states.

Because many saunas, cold plunges, and other large wellness products ship by freight, some products have separate flat-rate freight charges. This includes select SaunaLife and Leil saunas, as well as other oversized or specialty items.

Whenever a flat-rate freight charge applies, it will be clearly displayed above the Add to Cart button on the product page, shown again in the mini cart, and automatically added at checkout — so there are no surprise shipping charges.

Certain NW Immersion Signature Saunas and custom orders may have separate delivery pricing based on the product, destination, and delivery requirements. Any applicable delivery costs will be provided as part of your quote before the order is finalized.

If you would like to confirm shipping costs for a specific product or delivery location, please contact NW Immersion before ordering.

Does NW Immersion offer free shipping?

Yes. Most qualifying orders of $150 or more after discounts receive free standard shipping within the lower 48 states.

Many Golden Designs, Maxxus, and Dynamic products also include free freight shipping within the lower 48 states. Some oversized, specialty, custom, and NW Immersion Signature Sauna orders may have separate freight or delivery charges.

Whenever a shipping or flat-rate freight charge applies to a product, it will be clearly displayed above the Add to Cart button, shown again in the mini cart, and included at checkout — so there are no surprise shipping charges.

Accessory orders under $150 are currently subject to a flat $24.95 shipping fee.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are generally processed within 1–2 business days, Monday through Friday. In-stock products are typically shipped within 2–7 business days after processing, excluding custom-built orders.

Sauna inventory can vary by model and warehouse. If a sauna is out of stock at the time of ordering, fulfillment may take approximately 2–10 weeks, depending on the manufacturer, model, and incoming inventory schedule.

If you would like to confirm current availability before placing your order, please email info@nwimmersion.com with the sauna model you are considering. Our team can check current warehouse inventory and provide the most up-to-date estimated fulfillment timeline available.

All processing, fulfillment, and shipping timelines are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates, as manufacturer availability, freight scheduling, weather, and carrier delays can affect transit times.

How are saunas delivered?

Saunas shipped by freight are generally delivered curbside. If a sauna is too large for the carrier to unload, the customer must arrange and pay for a crane or forklift on site. Delivery requirements can vary by product. Review the requirements for your sauna before it ships.

Will the delivery company bring my sauna inside?

No. Unless otherwise noted, sauna freight deliveries are made by scheduled curbside delivery with liftgate service. The carrier will lower the shipment from the truck at the curb or nearest accessible delivery point, but does not provide inside delivery, assembly, placement, or installation.

For select products, liftgate service may not be available due to the size or weight of the shipment. In those cases, the customer may be required to provide a forklift or coordinate manual unloading at delivery.

Whenever special unloading requirements apply, they will be clearly disclosed above the Add to Cart button within the freight information and again in the product’s Shipping & Delivery section before purchase.

Additional services, including inside delivery, special placement, or other non-standard freight requests, are not included unless specifically stated.

What should I do when my sauna arrives?

Before signing for your sauna delivery, please take a few minutes to inspect the shipment while the driver is still present.

Confirm that the number of pallets, crates, or packages matches the Bill of Lading (BOL), and carefully inspect the exterior packaging for visible signs of damage such as crushed corners, punctures, torn shrink wrap, broken pallets, dents, or other impact damage.

If you see any visible damage, note it specifically on the delivery receipt or BOL before signing. Avoid writing only “damaged” — be as descriptive as possible, such as “crushed corner on crate,” “torn shrink wrap,” or “pallet damaged on left side.”

If no visible damage is present, we recommend signing with a notation such as “Subject to Inspection” or “OK Pending Further Inspection.”

Please also take clear photos of the shipment, including any visible damage, before removing the packaging whenever possible.

You do not need to fully unpack a large sauna crate or count every individual component while the freight driver is present.

After delivery, unpack and inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible. If you discover concealed damage, missing components, or other shipping-related issues, keep all original packaging and email support@nwimmersion.com promptly with:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Photos of the damaged product
  • Photos of the exterior packaging and shipping labels
  • Photos of any damage noted at delivery

For visible freight damage, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery so we can begin working with the carrier or manufacturer right away.

Do not refuse delivery for minor cosmetic damage to the outer packaging alone. Note the damage on the BOL, take photos, and accept the shipment. If the shipment appears severely or catastrophically damaged, contact NW Immersion before accepting delivery whenever possible.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged?

If you notice visible damage at delivery, do not sign the Bill of Lading (BOL) without first documenting it.

Note the specific damage on the BOL or delivery receipt, take clear photos of the shipment and packaging, and keep copies of any delivery paperwork. If possible, photograph the damage while the shipment is still on the truck or immediately after unloading.

Do not refuse delivery for minor cosmetic damage to the outer packaging alone. Note the damage, take photos, and accept the shipment. If the shipment appears severely or catastrophically damaged and the product is clearly unusable, contact NW Immersion before refusing delivery whenever possible.

Email your order number, photos, and a description of the damage to support@nwimmersion.com as soon as possible. Visible freight damage should be reported promptly so we can begin working with the carrier or manufacturer on your behalf.

What if I find shipping damage after opening the package?

If you discover damage after unpacking that was not visible at the time of delivery, contact NW Immersion as soon as possible.

Keep all original packaging, boxes, pallet materials, labels, and protective materials until the issue has been resolved. Take clear photos of:

  • The damaged product or component
  • The interior and exterior packaging
  • Shipping labels
  • Any damaged packaging materials
  • The overall shipment, when helpful

Email the photos, your order number, and a description of the issue to support@nwimmersion.com.

Please inspect and unpack your order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery. Prompt reporting gives us the best opportunity to assist with a concealed-damage claim and work with the carrier or manufacturer toward a resolution.

What happens if I refuse a delivery?

If you refuse a UPS, USPS, FedEx, RPS, or commercial freight delivery for a reason other than shipping damage or an NW Immersion shipping error, the order is subject to a 25% restocking fee plus applicable shipping charges. Contact NW Immersion before refusing a damaged freight shipment.

Can I request expedited or special delivery?

Yes, but additional charges may apply. Free-shipping orders are shipped using the method NW Immersion determines appropriate. Contact NW Immersion before ordering if you need expedited shipping or special freight services so any additional costs and arrangements can be confirmed.

Warranty, Returns & Support FAQs

Do NW Immersion products come with a warranty?

Most NW Immersion products include a limited warranty, with coverage and duration varying by product. Specific warranty information can be found on the product page or in the warranty provided with your item. Damage caused by failing to follow the product's instructions or requirements may void warranty coverage.

What should I do if my product develops a defect?

If your product develops a defect, please contact NW Immersion first so we can help coordinate diagnosis and the appropriate warranty-supported resolution.

This includes pre-cut sauna kits, pre-built sauna rooms, Signature Saunas, custom saunas, sauna wood products, and steam generators. The cancellation and deposit terms disclosed on the product page, quote, or order confirmation apply.

Can I cancel my order?

Standard orders can be canceled at no charge within 24 hours of purchase or until documented fulfillment begins, whichever comes first. After fulfillment begins but before shipment, cancellation may still be approved with a 5% cancellation fee. Once an order ships, the applicable return terms apply.

Can I exchange a product?

Eligible exchanges are generally handled as an approved return followed by a new order unless NW Immersion authorizes a direct exchange or replacement. Contact info@nwimmersion.com first so the appropriate process can be determined for your product.

How long does it take to receive a refund?

NW Immersion inspects returned items within 5 business days of receipt. If the return is approved, the refund is issued to the original payment method within 5 business days of approval. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the refund.

Which products cannot be returned?

Custom, made-to-order, and special-order products are non-returnable, along with products clearly marked Final Sale. Other exclusions include installed replacement parts, opened consumables and aromatherapy oils, and opened personal-contact textiles. Opened, assembled, installed, or used equipment may also become ineligible for return.

Sauna FAQs

What is a sauna?

A sauna is an enclosed space designed to expose the body to elevated temperatures for a controlled period. Traditional saunas primarily heat the air using a heater and stones, while infrared saunas use infrared energy to warm the body at lower ambient temperatures.

What are the different types of saunas?

The two main categories for home use are traditional and infrared saunas. Traditional models use heated air and sauna stones, while infrared models use infrared heaters. Saunas can also be categorized by placement, such as indoor or outdoor, and by heater type, capacity, construction, and infrared wavelength.

How does a traditional sauna work?

A traditional sauna uses an electric or wood-burning heater to heat the room and a bed of sauna stones. The hot air raises the temperature inside the cabin, while water can be poured over properly heated stones to create löyly, temporarily increasing steam and humidity.

How does an infrared sauna work?

An infrared sauna uses infrared emitters to deliver radiant energy that warms the body while maintaining a lower air temperature than a traditional sauna. Depending on the model, an infrared sauna may use far infrared or multiple wavelengths in a full-spectrum system.

How hot does a sauna get?

Traditional Finnish-style saunas commonly operate around 150°F to 195°F (66°C to 91°C), although settings vary. Infrared saunas generally operate at lower air temperatures, often around 110°F to 140°F (43°C to 60°C). Always follow the operating range specified for your sauna.

How long should you stay in a sauna?

A typical sauna session often lasts around 10 to 20 minutes, although appropriate duration depends on temperature, sauna type, experience, and individual tolerance. Beginners may prefer shorter sessions. Leave the sauna if you feel dizzy, nauseated, unusually weak, or otherwise unwell.

How often can you use a sauna?

Many healthy adults use saunas several times per week, and some experienced users sauna more frequently. Session frequency should depend on your tolerance, hydration, temperature, and duration. People with medical conditions, pregnant individuals, or those taking medications that affect heat tolerance should seek medical guidance.

What size sauna should I buy?

Choose according to the number of regular users, available installation space, and how much interior room you prefer. A one- or two-person sauna saves floor space, while a larger model provides additional seating and may feel more comfortable even when fewer people are using it.

How much does a home sauna cost?

Home sauna prices vary considerably. Compact infrared cabins can cost a few thousand dollars, while premium traditional, outdoor, and handcrafted saunas can cost well into five figures. Heater type, materials, capacity, construction, features, shipping, site preparation, and installation all affect the final cost.

How much electricity does a sauna use?

Electricity use depends mainly on heater wattage and session length. For example, a 6 kW heater running at full power for one hour uses up to 6 kWh of electricity, although thermostatic cycling can reduce actual consumption once the sauna reaches temperature. Infrared sauna power requirements also vary by model.

Are home saunas safe?

Home saunas are generally safe for healthy adults when properly installed and used according to manufacturer instructions. Stay hydrated, avoid alcohol before or during use, don't exceed your tolerance for heat, and leave immediately if you feel unwell. Certain health conditions or medications may require medical guidance.

Sauna Installation FAQs

Do home saunas require professional installation?

It depends on the sauna. Some prefabricated infrared cabins are designed for straightforward assembly, while traditional saunas may require electrical work, heater installation, ventilation, or site preparation. Hardwired electrical connections should be completed according to manufacturer instructions and applicable electrical codes.

What electrical connection does a sauna need?

Electrical requirements vary significantly by model. Some compact infrared saunas operate on a standard 120V outlet, while larger infrared units and many traditional electric sauna heaters require dedicated 240V service. Always use the voltage, amperage, and circuit requirements specified for your exact sauna.

Does a sauna need a dedicated circuit?

Many electric sauna heaters and larger sauna systems require a dedicated circuit, while requirements for smaller plug-in infrared models vary. Check the manufacturer's electrical specifications before installation and have any required wiring completed according to applicable electrical codes.

Does a sauna need ventilation?

Yes. Saunas need appropriate ventilation to supply fresh air and help manage heat, moisture, and air quality. Vent placement and sizing depend on the sauna and heater design. Follow the ventilation specifications provided by the manufacturer instead of using one universal configuration.

Does a sauna need plumbing?

A standard sauna does not normally require plumbing simply to operate. Water used for löyly can be carried into a traditional sauna manually. Plumbing may be needed if the surrounding setup includes features such as a shower, sink, or other dedicated water fixtures.

Does a sauna need a drain?

Not every home sauna requires a floor drain. Requirements depend on the sauna design, installation, cleaning method, and local building requirements. A drain can be useful where substantial water may reach the floor, but you should follow the specifications for your particular sauna.

What should you put underneath a sauna?

A sauna should sit on a stable, level surface appropriate for its weight and installation environment. Concrete and tile are common choices. Other surfaces may also work when permitted by the manufacturer. Outdoor models may require a properly prepared foundation or structural base.

Can you put a sauna in a garage?

Yes. A sauna can be installed in a garage when the space meets the model's requirements for electrical service, ventilation, clearances, flooring, ambient conditions, and installation environment. NW Immersion also offers a signature indoor sauna specifically designed with garage and similar interior installations in mind.

Can you put a sauna in a basement?

Yes. Basements can accommodate saunas when there is sufficient space, electrical service, ventilation, and a suitable floor. Moisture problems should be addressed before installation, and the delivery route should be measured carefully because stairs, doorways, and tight turns can restrict access.

Do you need a permit to install a sauna?

Permit requirements depend on your location and the scope of the installation. Electrical work, new structures, plumbing, foundations, and setbacks can trigger local permit requirements. Check with your local building authority and any applicable homeowners association before beginning installation.

Sauna Heater FAQs

What type of sauna heater do I need?

Choose a heater designed for your sauna type and installation. Electric heaters offer convenient temperature control and are common in residential saunas, while wood-burning heaters provide traditional wood-fired heat but require proper ventilation and a chimney or flue system. Always match the heater to the sauna manufacturer's requirements.

What size sauna heater do I need?

Sauna heater size is primarily determined by the room's volume, usually calculated in cubic feet or cubic meters. Glass, masonry, and other uninsulated surfaces can increase the heating requirement. Use the heater manufacturer's sizing guidelines rather than choosing solely by the sauna's seating capacity.

Are electric or wood-burning sauna heaters better?

Neither is universally better. Electric sauna heaters offer convenient controls, straightforward operation, and no need to store firewood. Wood-burning heaters provide a traditional wood-fired experience and can work well where suitable chimney installation is possible. Your space, utilities, local regulations, and heating preferences should guide the choice.

How long does a sauna heater take to heat up?

An electric sauna typically takes around 30 to 60 minutes to reach operating temperature, while wood-heated saunas can take roughly 45 to 90 minutes. Actual warm-up time depends on heater output, sauna volume, insulation, starting temperature, ventilation, and your desired temperature.

Can you pour water on sauna heater stones?

Yes, when the heater and stones are specifically designed for it. Pouring small amounts of water over properly heated sauna stones creates löyly, a temporary burst of steam and increased humidity. Never pour water on an infrared heater or an electric heater that is not approved for water use.

How much electricity does an electric sauna heater use?

Electricity consumption depends on the heater's power rating and how long it operates. A 6 kW heater, for example, can use up to 6 kWh during one hour at full output. Actual consumption may be lower once the thermostat begins cycling the heater on and off.

Does a wood-burning sauna heater need a chimney?

Yes. A wood-burning sauna heater needs a properly designed chimney or flue system to vent smoke and combustion gases outdoors. Installation must follow the heater manufacturer's clearance and chimney requirements as well as applicable building and fire codes.

How long do sauna heaters last?

A quality sauna heater can often last 10 to 20 years or longer with appropriate installation, use, and maintenance, but lifespan varies greatly. Heating elements, controls, stones, and other components may require replacement sooner depending on usage frequency, operating conditions, and heater design.

Can I replace my existing sauna heater?

Yes, but the replacement needs to be properly sized for the sauna and compatible with the available electrical service or chimney system. Check room volume, heater clearances, ventilation, controls, and power requirements before replacing an existing unit.

What sauna heater brands does NW Immersion carry?

NW Immersion carries residential sauna heaters from brands including HUUM and Harvia, with electric and wood-burning options available. Heater availability varies; compare current models according to sauna volume, fuel type, controls, installation requirements, and desired heating experience.

Cold Plunge FAQs

What is a cold plunge?

A cold plunge is a tub or vessel filled with cold water for short periods of cold-water immersion. Purpose-built systems may use a chiller to maintain a selected water temperature and can include circulation and filtration equipment to simplify regular home use.

How does a cold plunge work?

You immerse part or most of your body in cold water for a controlled period. Purpose-built cold plunge systems can circulate water through a chiller to remove heat and maintain a target temperature, while filtration and sanitation components help manage water quality.

How cold should a cold plunge be?

Many cold plunges are used at approximately 50°F to 59°F (10°C to 15°C), which is sufficiently cold for many users without requiring near-freezing water. Beginners can start warmer and adjust gradually according to tolerance. Colder temperatures are not automatically better.

How long should you stay in a cold plunge?

For many people, a few minutes or less is enough, particularly at colder temperatures. Beginners should start with brief exposure and build gradually if comfortable. Exit immediately if you experience severe shivering, numbness, confusion, breathing difficulty, dizziness, or other concerning symptoms.

How often should you cold plunge?

There is no universally required frequency. Some people use cold-water immersion several times per week, while others use it occasionally after exercise or as part of a wellness routine. Temperature, immersion duration, individual tolerance, and health status should determine how frequently you use it.

Are cold plunges safe?

Cold plunges can be used safely by many healthy adults, but cold-water immersion causes rapid cardiovascular and respiratory responses. Enter gradually, keep sessions controlled, and avoid plunging alone when using very cold water. People with cardiovascular conditions or other relevant medical concerns should seek medical guidance first.

Do you need a chiller for a cold plunge?

No. You can cool a plunge with ice or naturally cold water, but a chiller makes maintaining a consistent temperature considerably easier. It can also reduce the need to repeatedly purchase, freeze, and add large amounts of ice.

Do cold plunges need ice?

Not when a properly sized chiller can bring the water to your desired temperature. Ice is still an option for tubs without chillers or when additional cooling is needed, but purpose-built chilled systems are designed to maintain cold water without relying on ice for every session.

How do you keep cold plunge water clean?

Use appropriate filtration and sanitation, keep the tub covered when possible, shower before entering, and clean the tub and system according to manufacturer instructions. Water chemistry and maintenance requirements vary between systems, so follow the recommendations for your specific plunge.

How often should you change cold plunge water?

There is no single schedule for every system. A plunge without filtration or sanitation may require frequent water changes, while a properly maintained filtered and sanitized system can keep water usable considerably longer. Replace the water whenever cleanliness or water quality cannot be maintained.

Do cold plunges need filters?

A filter is strongly recommended for recirculating cold plunge systems because it captures hair, debris, and other particles from the water. Filtration alone does not sanitize the water, so it should be used alongside the sanitation and maintenance methods recommended for the system.

Cold Plunge Chiller & Maintenance FAQs

What is a cold plunge chiller?

A cold plunge chiller is a cooling unit that removes heat from circulating water and returns the cooled water to the plunge tub. It allows users to reach and maintain cold temperatures without continually adding ice.

What size chiller do I need for my cold plunge?

Chiller size depends on water volume, target temperature, ambient temperature, insulation, sun exposure, and how quickly you want the water to cool. Compare these factors with the manufacturer's rated cooling capacity instead of choosing a chiller based on horsepower alone.

How do you install a cold plunge chiller?

Installation typically involves connecting the plunge, circulation pump, filter, and chiller with the correct water lines, then supplying the required electrical connection. Exact configurations differ significantly between systems. Make sure to follow the manufacturer's plumbing, flow-direction, clearance, and electrical instructions.

How often should you change a cold plunge filter?

Replacement frequency depends on the filter type, water quality, usage, and number of users. Inspect and clean or replace the filter according to the manufacturer's schedule, and service it sooner if water flow decreases or the filter becomes visibly dirty.

How do you clean a cold plunge?

Drain the tub as needed, clean its interior using products approved by the manufacturer, and service the filter, plumbing, and sanitation system according to their instructions. Regularly removing debris and maintaining proper water chemistry can reduce buildup between deeper cleanings.

Why isn't my cold plunge getting cold?

Possible causes include inadequate chiller capacity, restricted water flow, a dirty or clogged filter, incorrect settings, high ambient temperatures, poor insulation, or a chiller malfunction.

Before arranging service, review the manufacturer’s troubleshooting instructions, especially if the unit is displaying an error code. Cleaning the filter, confirming adequate water flow, checking the set temperature, and making sure vents and air intakes are unobstructed can often resolve common performance issues.

If professional service is needed, the appropriate technician will depend on the problem:

  • HVAC-R technician — best for refrigeration-system issues, compressor problems, refrigerant concerns, condenser or evaporator issues, or a chiller that is running but not cooling properly.
  • Hot tub or spa technician — often a good resource for pumps, water circulation, plumbing, filtration, leaks, and other water-system components.
  • Licensed electrician — appropriate for electrical supply, breaker, wiring, GFCI, or power-related concerns.

For warranty-related issues, please contact support@nwimmersion.com before authorizing repairs. Include your order number, a detailed description of the problem, any error codes, and clear photos or videos. Some manufacturers may require troubleshooting or pre-authorization before third-party service work is performed.

Why isn't my cold plunge filter working?

A filter may stop working effectively because it is clogged, incorrectly installed, overdue for replacement, or receiving inadequate water flow. Check the filter orientation, pump operation, plumbing, and manufacturer instructions before replacing components.

What maintenance does a cold plunge require?

Routine maintenance generally includes monitoring water quality, cleaning or replacing filters, removing debris, cleaning the tub, and inspecting the circulation and chiller system. Exact sanitation, filter, and water-change schedules depend on the equipment and frequency of use.

Contrast Therapy FAQs

What is contrast therapy?

Contrast therapy involves alternating exposure to heat and cold. In a home wellness setting, this typically means moving between a sauna and cold plunge, although other forms of hot and cold water exposure can also be used.

Can you use a sauna and cold plunge together?

Yes. Saunas and cold plunges are commonly paired for alternating heat and cold exposure. Keep both portions of the session within temperatures and durations you tolerate comfortably, stay hydrated, and stop if you experience dizziness, chest discomfort, confusion, or other concerning symptoms.

Should you sauna or cold plunge first?

Many contrast routines begin with the sauna and follow with cold immersion, but there is no universal sequence required for every purpose. Starting with heat is common because it warms the body before the cold portion of the session. Your goals and tolerance can influence the sequence.

How long should you wait between a sauna and cold plunge?

There is likewise no universally required waiting period. Some experienced users transition relatively quickly, whereas others take several minutes to cool down and normalize their breathing first. Avoid rushing into very cold water if you feel lightheaded, overheated, or otherwise uncomfortable after leaving the sauna.

Can you use a hot tub and cold plunge together?

Yes. A hot tub and cold plunge can be used for alternating warm and cold immersion. Because both temperature extremes affect circulation and cardiovascular workload, keep exposure controlled and avoid rapid transitions if they make you feel dizzy, faint, or unwell.

Can you use a swimming pool with a sauna for contrast therapy?

Yes, provided the pool water is cool enough to create a meaningful temperature contrast with the sauna. A typical heated pool will provide a milder contrast than a dedicated cold plunge, while an unheated pool's temperature can vary substantially with the weather and season.

Red Light Therapy FAQs

What is red light therapy?

Red light therapy uses specific wavelengths of visible red and near-infrared light delivered by LEDs or other light sources. This form of photobiomodulation is being studied for effects on cellular activity, skin, recovery, and other applications, although evidence varies depending on the specific use.

What is the difference between red light and near-infrared light?

Red light is visible and generally penetrates more superficially, making it commonly associated with skin-focused applications. Near-infrared light is invisible to the human eye and can penetrate deeper into tissue. Many red light therapy panels combine both wavelength ranges within one device.

How long should you use red light therapy?

Session length depends on the device's irradiance, your distance from the panel, treatment area, and manufacturer's recommended dose. Many home devices recommend sessions of roughly 10 to 20 minutes, but longer exposure is not automatically better. Follow the instructions for your specific panel.

How often should you use red light therapy?

Usage recommendations differ between devices and intended applications. Many home red light therapy systems are used several times per week, while some manufacturers permit daily sessions. Follow the recommended frequency and treatment duration for your particular device instead of assuming every panel should be used on the same schedule.

How far should you stand from a red light panel?

Many home panels are used approximately 6 to 24 inches away, but the appropriate distance depends on the panel's irradiance, beam angle, treatment area, and manufacturer's dosing recommendations. Moving closer generally increases intensity, while greater distance can provide broader coverage at lower irradiance.

Can you use red light therapy every day?

Some red light therapy devices are designed for daily use, but the appropriate frequency is determined by the panel, treatment duration, distance, and intended application. Heed the manufacturer's dosing recommendations and reduce or discontinue use if you experience an unexpected reaction.

Can you put a red light panel in a sauna?

Only if the panel is specifically designed and rated for sauna conditions, like NW Immersion’s Sauna-Rated Red Light Panels. Traditional saunas expose equipment to sustained high temperatures that many standard red light panels are not built to tolerate. Check the manufacturer's maximum operating temperature and approved installation environment before placing a panel inside a sauna.

Can you use red light therapy and a sauna on the same day?

Yes, many people can use red light therapy and a sauna on the same day. They do not necessarily need to be performed simultaneously. Follow the operating instructions for both products and consider separate sessions when the red light device is not rated for use inside a heated sauna.

What size red light panel should I buy?

Choose based primarily on the area you want to expose during each session. Smaller panels can work for targeted areas, while larger panels provide greater coverage and may be preferable for torso or near-full-body sessions. Also compare irradiance, wavelengths, treatment distance, mounting options, and available space.

Choosing the Right Home Wellness Equipment

Should I buy a sauna or cold plunge?

Choose according to the experience you prefer and how you expect to use it. A sauna provides controlled heat exposure, while a cold plunge provides cold-water immersion. Some homeowners eventually use both for separate sessions or alternating hot and cold exposure.

Should I choose a traditional or infrared sauna?

Choose a traditional sauna if you prefer higher air temperatures, heated sauna stones, and the option to create löyly by adding water to the stones. Infrared may suit you better if you prefer lower ambient temperatures and direct infrared heating.

What sauna is best for a small space?

Compact one- and two-person saunas are generally the easiest options for limited spaces. Infrared cabins are widely available in smaller footprints, while compact traditional models are also available. Measure the room and required clearances before choosing based on advertised capacity alone.

What sauna is best for outdoor use?

Choose a sauna specifically designed and approved for outdoor installation. Within that category, the right model depends on your preferred heating style, capacity, available space, climate, electrical or wood-heater requirements, and the foundation available at the installation site.

Can I build a home wellness room with a sauna and cold plunge?

Yes. A sauna and cold plunge can share a home wellness space when the room can accommodate the installation requirements of both systems. Plan for electrical service, ventilation, water management, drainage where necessary, equipment clearances, and comfortable movement around each unit.

How do I choose the right sauna for my home?

Start with where the sauna will be installed and whether you prefer traditional or infrared heat. Then compare dimensions, capacity, electrical requirements, features, installation conditions, and budget. The right sauna should fit both your available space and how you expect to use it.
